About Myself
I’m Furkan KASA, MSc. Mining Engineer, PhD Student at Cukurova University in Adana/Turkey and Mine Operations Manager in Dedeman Mining in Kayseri/Turkey. This is my personal resume blog for my working experiences, academic publications and engineering tips&tricks for companies and mining engineers.

Since May 2020, I have been responsible for creating, reporting, financial and economic analysis of underground and surface mining projects in the pit of the fields (Kayseri, Adana, Eskisehir, Gumushane and Erzurum in Turkey) that the company has. I take part in the development of optimization studies and the evaluation of the economy by making relevant resource modeling and geostatistical estimates according to international mineral resource reporting formats, and the development and execution of projects. I especially work on projecting, resource/reserve estimation, optimization, and simulations of our polymetallic and base metal mining licenses. My last project is increasing the production rate in Zinc-Lead underground mine.

Dedeman is one of the biggest Mining Company in Turkey. Pulpinar Chromite Operation site is in Kayser/Turkey which established 1947 for Chromite ore production. The minesite have undergrounds and open pits and also have 4 kinds of mineral processing facilities (Triage, Jig, MGS and Concentrator). 3 million tonnes chromite ore so far have been produced and shipped outside of country. Company have the quality certificates like ISO 9001 quality management and OHSAS 18001.
In our working area I’m responsible of all stage of production (underground, open pit and mineral prosessing stages) and control, ten days reports, monthly, yearly reports and budget control, annual budgets, mine planning control, occupational health and safety and etc.
I have good computer knowledge and like to design presentation files.

I’m Academic partner of MiningMath’s SimSched DBS software for mining optimization with a different optimization algorithm called Direct Block Scheduling which use Linear and Mixed-Integer Programming.

Furkan Kasa is a Mining Engineering from Turkey where he has started his Ph.D. at the Cukurova University Mining Department in Turkey. He has been working in Dedeman Mining Chromite Mine Site in Kayseri/Turkey since 2007. He has experience as in mineral processing, as an underground shift engineer and an open-pit supervisor.
